1. Information We Collect

From Customers

When you create an account or make a booking, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and payment information. Payment details are processed securely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.

From Vendors

When you register as a vendor, we collect your business name, contact information, service details, and profile photos. As part of our identity verification process, we also collect a government-issued ID photo and a selfie holding your ID. These verification photos are used solely to confirm your identity and are accessible only to authorized Monarts staff.

Automatically

We collect standard log data including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and device information to improve our services and ensure platform security.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and facilitate bookings between customers and vendors.

To verify vendor identities and protect customers from fraudulent listings.

To process payments and send booking confirmations and receipts.

To send service-related communications such as booking updates, reminders, and support responses.

To improve our platform, analyze usage patterns, and develop new features.

To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Identity Verification Data

Government-issued ID photos and selfies submitted for vendor verification are stored securely in encrypted cloud storage. These images are only accessible to authorized Monarts administrators for the purpose of verifying your identity.

Verification photos are deleted within 30 days of a final approval or rejection decision. We do not share, sell, or use verification photos for any purpose other than identity verification.

By submitting verification documents, you confirm that you are authorized to provide this information and consent to its use as described in this policy.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We share your information only with: (a) service providers who help us operate the platform such as Stripe for payments, Resend for emails, and Supabase for data storage; (b) other users only to the extent necessary to complete a booking (e.g. your name and contact info shared with the vendor you book); and (c) law enforcement or regulators when required by law.

Vendor public profiles including business name, photos, bio, location, and reviews are visible to all users of the platform.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us.

Identity verification photos are deleted within 30 days of a final decision.

Booking records may be retained for up to 7 years for legal and accounting purposes.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@monarts.com. We will respond within 45 days.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in encrypted databases. Access to sensitive data such as verification photos is restricted to authorized personnel only.

While we take security seriously, no system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
